L'OPERA! (2024, revised 2025) is about a fun-loving, Japanese and Filipino-American opera singer who gets into The Juilliard School... then loses his voice. A funny, multi-lingual 52-minute solo performance, careening through the streets of New York City, Southern Italy, Hollywood, and Beijing, and featuring live performances of songs, including originals, L'OPERA! is anything but Euro-centric classical.
First premiered off-Broadway at Pan Asian Repertory in 2024, then remounted in 2025 at the Japanese American National Museum's Democracy Center with support from UCI's Medici Scholarship.
Recommended for age 13+.
This production contains some mature content suitable for adolescents and adults.
The performance is 52 minutes (one-act, no intermission)
